- Morgantown City Council Committee (SMOKE BAN)
At the Morgantown City Council Committee of the whole meeting this week, a consideration of a new clean indoor air ordinance for Morgantown was discussed. There was enough support of the Clean Indoor Air Ordinance to put on the next city council meeting. The Center for Disease Control has found that nearly 50,000 Americans die each year from lung cancer and heart disease attributable to secondhand smoke exposure, we want to SAVE LIVES from 2nd hand smoke and strengthen the clean indoor air ordinance here!
We need your help! Please mark the date and grab a friend
to come out and support Smoke Free Morgantown:When: Tuesday- June 7th 7:30 pm
Where: City Council Chambers on 389 Spruce street (two doors up from the library)
What: Support Smoke Free Morgantown
Come out to show your support for Smoke Free Air! We need all the supporters we can get to show up at this Morgantown city council meeting: Health professionals, Health advocates, educators, All WVU STUDENTS , Morgantown city workers and concerned citizens to be present and hopefully sign up to speak at the public comment segment: and/or show your support by wearing a support sticker.
Supporters will need to show up early and please try to clear your calendar to stay for the entire meeting.
We really need your support! If you are interested in helping us out with this issue or would like to attend the meeting, please e-mail: Juliana.Frederick@cancer.org for more information.
