Description
On Wednesday, April 25th, the Historical Metropolitan Theater on High Street in Morgantown will host “Inspire the Stars,” it’s first-ever Red Carpet Event beginning at 5:00pm. The Hollywood-themed extravaganza intermingles fashion and performing arts, uniting all facets of the community, to raise money and awareness for the Ronald McDonald House.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Morgantown, WV was created to find and support programs that make an immediate and positive impact on the health and well-being of children. Guided by core values, RMHC provides a “home-away-from-home” without the financial burden of a hotel for parents of critically ill children. Yet, RMHC is more than just a roof overhead. During this emotional time, the house offers the comforts of home, while also providing support and encouragement. Annually serving over 1,800 families traveling from West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland and Pennsylvania, RMHC has impacted the lives of over 30,000 people.

“Celebrities” attending Inspire the Stars are formerly-ill children and their families that have utilized the Ronald McDonald House Facilities. The occasion celebrates positivity, commemorates inner strength, and allows the opportunity for them to shine. Each celebrity’s star treatment will include:
•Walking the red carpet and have their pictures taken by the “paparazzi”
•Receiving a custom-made (temporary) star on high street with the child’s name, resembling the Hollywood Walk of Fame stars, that they can take home
•An outfit to wear to the event from participating retailers
•Pampering from a local salon on the day of the event
•Limousine service to and from the event

The Hollywood experience is not intended for the celebrity guests exclusively. Children and adults of all ages are encouraged to attend the event and walk the Red Carpet, have their pictures taken in front of the step and repeat banner and feel like stars.

The Fashion Show Extravaganza, produced by Altered Ego Boutique, begins at 7:00pm. Local retailers will display their individual niche style, which will be alternated with performances by local talented children/adolescents. The participating retailers include:
•    Altered Ego Boutique
•    Coni & Franc
•    Jane V Jewelers
• Oliverio’s Bridal
•    Personally Yours
•    Sustain U Clothing
•    Triple S Harley-Davidson Apparel

A silent auction will be held in the central and upstairs lobbies of the theater from 5-7 pm with all proceeds benefiting RMHC. Winners will be annonced at the conclusion of the event.

Tickets to “Inspire the Stars” are available at http://morgantownmet.com/
or at the door for the event. General seating is $15 and VIP/Preferred seating is $25.
