  • Veteran’s Day Parade – Downtown Traffic Jam
    NEWS RELEASE November 7, 2011
    For Immediate Release

    The Morgantown Police Department will be altering traffic patterns on Friday, November 11, 2011, for the Veteran’s Day Parade beginning at 5:30 pm. The parade route will be on High Street beginning at 6:30 pm. The parade will disperse at Foundry Street.

    Traffic in the downtown area will be restricted during the parade. The Spruce Street parking garage will be open for spectators to park until the start of the parade. Traffic will be detoured off of Willey Street to Prospect Street and restricted at University Avenue and Willey Street. Motorists entering the downtown area from Beechurst Avenue will be delayed during the parade.

    Traffic patterns will be returned to normal as soon as possible following the parade. Parade spectators are urged to arrive downtown early to allow ample time for parking.

    The Morgantown Police Department is committed to its goal of eliminating crime in our city. Citizens are encouraged to become a “Partner in Policing”, by reporting suspected criminal activity to Morgantown Police Department Switchboard at (304) 284-7522. If you need immediate Police attention or a crime is in progress call 911.

  • Benefit Dinner at de Lazy Lizard
    On November 10th at 8 pm the WVU Student Body is hosting a Benefit Dinner at de Lazy Lizard on High Street. The Golden Finch will be catering for the event. The event is free to the public.

    On November 10th, 11th and 12th: The Golden Finch is also hosting a fundraiser for those who wish to have a sit down meal.

    Donation baskets will be placed at both locations. Please come out for a great a cause!
